Folding Cartons Focus For Conference Seminar
The latest techniques and issues facing folding cartons and their use for food packaging will be the focus of attention at a seminar at the Design Once Output Many conference in Bari (Italy).
Organised by the Printcity project group the food packaging in folding cartons seminar will present its latest best practice knowledge at the show.
Through its packaging, commercial and sheetfed activity group, Printcity said it is co-operating with the Design Once Output Many (DOOM) conference organiser to provide a seminar about innovative and market leading food packaging technology, knowledge and systems on September 28.
Printcity's 'connection of competence' project members involved in the group include Adphos-Eltosch, Bobst, Kurz, MAN Roland, Merck, M-real, Sun Chemical and Weilburger Graphics.
Additionally Henkel and Nestle are involved in partnership with Printcity to provide the seminar.
The seminar will examine why food packaging in folding cartons is appropriate, the trends and expectations in the marketplace (presented by Nestle) and the latest techniques in food packaging in folding cartons.
The 2007 event will consider the inherent problems in food packaging in folding cartons, including the production of Braille packaging, which is an area of production that remains fraught with difficulties from design, to pre-press, from inking to printing and on to packaging, said Printcity.
According to Siegfried Bradl, a manager at AG PCS: "The Design Once Output Many international conference in Bari will allow our Printcity members to bring the latest information on food packaging technology and systems to the Italian and international market." He added: "Additionally our members welcome the involvement of Nestle and Henkel in our Printcity seminar programme, as they both bring very important brand owner needs, knowledge and capability to our overall presentation." Printcity's packaging, commercial and sheetfed activity group focuses on food packaging, UV printing and special varnishes, improved colour density on premium packaging, front and back printing, RFID, trademarking and brand protection, as well as using integrated security elements in packaging production.
