Broadsword, based in Rotherham, South Yorkshire, which provides print management, graphic design and display print services to major hospitals, universities, national public and private companies, attended one of the first Print Yorkshire networking events.

General Manager David Fehley, commented: "It was extremely useful to get together with like-minded companies and potential supply partners through Print Yorkshire.

It's about time this region stood together to promote the level of excellence that exists in print and allied services here.

I was also introduced to the HR management programme run by the BPIF, which we are now introducing, to help us keep ahead of the game in terms of employment law and best practice.

It also complements our ISO 9001:2000 certification and Investors in People programme very nicely." Print Yorkshire Director Mike Hopkins commented: "It's still early days for the Print Yorkshire partnership, but we're delighted at the initial responses to our networking events, workshops and grants provision.

Broadsword is a superb example of how Print Yorkshire can facilitate the sharing of best practice as well as the creation of business opportunities." Print Yorkshire - is a partnership between Yorkshire Forward and the British Printing Industries Federation (BPIF) to promote and advance the region's printing and allied industries.

It is planning its next round of networking events in the Humber on May 18, West Yorkshire on May 19 and South Yorkshire on May 26.
