Showcase 2005 the event organised by Print Yorkshire for buyers and sellers of print has confirmed its final line up of speakers and seminars.
The experts at Showcase 2005 - to be staged at The Royal Armouries museum in Leeds, on October 6 - have been drawn from international print industry figures from both sides of the Atlantic and senior people from both sides of client and supplier relationship in the print industry.
Kicking off the event will be Jim Frey, the founder and executive vice president from the Print Industries of Northern California, who is coming over from the USA exclusively for the seminar.
He will be revealing what the US print supply chain does to optimise service and quality and how print buyers can stretch budgets without pain.
Other speakers will include Margi Dana, one of America's top consultants, who will make a presentation on 'So, you're a print buyer, what the heck does that mean?' with some hands-on practical solutions and case studies that show how to do it effectively and with some US innovations.
Watt-Gilchrist will present their customer service model that includes an insight in to how the company provides a total service for ASDA Walmart.
The 'Profit from Environmental Awareness' presentation will demonstrate how the ogre of legislation can be turned to commercial benefit and create efficiencies for the buyer and protect margins for the printer.
The session will be led by Toby Marchant, Managing Director of Robert Horne.
The climax of the day will be the 'Great Print Debate'.
Arla Foods, Duffield Printers and Triplearc will each make their respective cases for the sensitive issues - web auctions, print farming, full-service print versus out-sourcing.
Print Yorkshire's senior executive, Robert McClements, said: "We have reserved some suits of armour in case the Great Print Debate proves to be a battle but we are expecting to see some more constructive ways to resolve the issues and manage these issues which are an unavoidable element of print.
Showcase2005 has been designed to add value to the industry with practical ideas from live case studies and international best practice.
The speaker line-up is great and exhibitor and delegate places are almost sold out.
The response from the industry has been overwhelming - we have clearly tapped in to a well recognised need and provided something that everyone was wanting to see.".
