The final line up of speakers is complete for this year's inaugural, international print conference - Showcase 2005, being held at The Royal Armouries in Leeds (UK) on October 6.

Speakers are crossing the Atlantic to share their knowledge of the print world in the USA but the conference orgnaiser, Print Yorkshire, said that it has uncovered a wealth of world beating, print specialists from within the UK who will give the Americans a run for their money.

Robert McClements, senior executive of Print Yorkshire and director for Showcase 2005 said: "We have unparalleled technology and insight right here in Yorkshire.

Businesses are going out and winning international contracts because they are the best to do the job.

This conference has also become a forum about sharing information and learning and highlighting our own technological success as a region." The day will have a strong focus on how to maximise new technology and new thinking to create more personalised communications with more impact, so that delegates and, in particular buyers of print, can be more targeted and ultimately more cost effective.

Topics such as increasing direct mail response rates from two per cent to 40 per cent will be presented in the speaker programme on the day.

MetalFX, based at Guiseley near Leeds but with international patents will be demonstrating its printing process that can be used to produce hundreds of metallic colours in one pass, enabling designers and printers to create a claimed unlimited choice of metallic colours, without the expense of multiple spot inks.

There will be digital printing companies such as Oce which will be showcasing how to create a more immediate and tailored direct marketing strategy.

Print management companies and printers of all sizes will be present on the day for an opportunity to see 50 potential sources of print for every conceivable use, in one place.
