Support Package For Yorkshire Printers
Printers from Yorkshire and Humber (UK) have welcomed a package of practical and financial help from Print Yorkshire to help them adopt lean methods of manufacturing.
Showcase was launched last year by Print Yorkshire, the partnership between the British Printing Industries Federation (BPIF) and Yorkshire Forward, which is supported by the European Regional Development Fund.
Showcase2006 takes place at Leeds' Royal Armouries museum on October 5.
Print Yorkshire's chief executive, Robert McClements, said he was delighted that SCR had chosen to support Showcase and added: "Printing on demand and bespoke services are one of the key challenges for the industry and SCR is demonstrating clear leadership in that field.
We're delighted to have the company on board and hope Showcase will bring new contacts and new business to further grow the company." The announcement follows recent SCR's contract wins and a GBP500,000 investment in new overprinting technology at SCR, which is attracting customers across the UK, from direct mail, marketing, print management and finance companies, said the company.
SCR's marketing manager, Karen Forsyth, commented: "Showcase provides a great opportunity to speak to our target markets on a local and national level.
It also offers an excellent platform to profile our new capability to overprint on to matt coated envelopes and perfect four back one colour envelope printing in one pass." And she added: "From August 21, many of our customers, especially those from direct mail companies, will face a challenge when the Royal Mail introduces Pricing in Proportion (PiP), its new method for calculating postage costs.
As a result we're predicting a rise in the use of C5 envelopes due to their cheaper mailing cost.
Showcase will allow us to offer visitors advice on PiP and help us demonstrate how SCR and our services can help companies meet those challenges.".
