Print Yorkshire's Showcase event has attracted international speakers, whilst a Caribbean-themed party will provide a finale to this year's show, which takes place on October 5 Launched in 2005, Showcase remains the UK's only dedicated forum for packaging and print and is seeking to build upon the successes achieved in its first year with over 50 exhibitors and 400 attendees, said Print Yorkshire

The organisation said that event will see a gathering of big name brands and personnel from within the print and packaging industries.

They will include Jeff Richards from Npower, Michael Hallinan, strategic procurement manager for Northern Foods, Lisa Palillo from Hallmark Cards, English Heritage's Elaine Pooke, Dawn Fitzgerald, corporate designer at The Environment Agency and US print industry consultant, Margie Gallo Dana.

Darren Aldred, print buyer for retailer Matalan, said: "Showcase 2005 was excellent, Margie Dana was fantastic and I'd certainly like to see more of her style and flair at this year's event." The keynote speakers will provide insight from across the industry and from both sides of the Atlantic Ocean, said Print Yorkshire.

The mix of local and international speakers will be discussing and debating a number of industry topics, including environmental issues in the print industry, the internet as an opportunity or threat and bridging the gap between the USA and UK markets.

The organisation said that the event provides an opportunity for buyers and creative specialists to meet and network with over 50 sellers of print and packaging at the sell-out exhibition.

Showcase2006 is backed by many of the industry's key brands with repeat sponsorship from Yorkshire Bank, BPIF, and Oce.

New sponsors for this year include SCR Envelopes, Cobbetts, Vision, Pindar, and St Ives Direct.

Russell Thomas, sales director at St Ives Direct, said: "Never before have we had a vehicle through which we can promote our breadth of services nationally whilst supporting our strong local partnerships.

At Showcase we will be demonstrating the full range of St Ives Direct services including digital, print, graphics services, photography and sheet-fed printing." Showcase2006 will take place at the Royal Armouries museum in Leeds.

Ticket prices range from GBP10 for entry to the exhibition and networking session and GBP125 for the full programme.
