Printyorkshire and the British Printing Industries Federation (BPIF) have responded to the challenge set by the industry to reveal the secrets of successful business.

In a series of free master classes they will show how business growth can be coupled with cost reduction to make radical improvements, said Printyorkshire.

All print and packaging company managers and directors can learn from selected experts in a series of themed networking events starting in November, added the organisation.

The series, which will run through to May next year, will cover key issues for the industry, including marketing, aggregated purchasing techniques and lean manufacturing methods.

It will also explore the role of e-commerce in sales and how customer relationship management can be used as a hidden sales force, as well as to help retain customers.

Printyorkshire's chief executive, Robert McClements, commented: "Practical and participative, the events are aimed at providing down-to-earth systems, to major issues affecting print and packaging businesses.

Everyone will receive a personal follow-up to see if they need any help in implementing the solutions offered.

They will also receive a free copy of the Printer's Guide to Waste Management.

It is a comprehensive 58-page update on the latest environmental legislation, with clear guidelines on how to minimise waste."
