Delegates Race To Brands Hatch For BPIF Conference
The British Printing Industries Federation (BPIF) is to stage its south eastern regional conference on March 30 at Brands Hatch, Kent (UK).
Launched in March, PrintIT! has already led to the need for extra resources to assist project manager, Steve Wicks, said Picon.
Smith will support Wicks in coordinating project activities on a day to day basis, with the goal of bringing PrintIT! to fruition in the lead up to the prize giving ceremony at Ipex 2006, at Birmingham's NEC (UK).
Smith will be involved in securing further support for PrintIT!, as well as working with key partners that include the Specialist Schools Trust (SST), the Fairtrade Foundation, BAPC, BPIF, Ipex 2006, Robert Horne Group, and Wyndeham Press Group plc.
She has spent 15 years in the printing and publishing industries, with experience in sales and marketing roles at organisations including Duncan Web and Woodford Litho, as well as fulfilling a production role at Reed Business Publishing.
Last year, Smith set up her own print management business, a move which has allowed her to become involved in many projects, dealing with a range of suppliers.
Paul Evans, business development manager at Picon, commented: "We have had an extremely positive response to PrintIT! and as the project gains momentum in the lead up to Ipex, we want to make sure we have a well-resourced project management team on board.
Victoria's experience and knowledge of the industry is ideal for and we believe that she and Steve Wicks will make a strong, highly capable team that will be a real asset to PrintIT!" Smith said: "I believe PrintIT! provides a fantastic opportunity for us all to encourage young people in to the industry, for all the right reasons.
The industry is alive with new technology and enthusiasm, which candidates will thrive on once they get involved.
I'm convinced that PrintIT! will be a tremendously successful initiative and I look forward to working with Steve Wicks and the team to drive it forward.".
