A further GBP 20,000 worth of sponsorship support has been donated to PrintIT!, the UK industry-wide educational initiative aimed at attracting youth in to the industry.

Press manufacturer MAN Roland GB, and specialist integrator Turning Point Technologies have both pledged GBP 10,000 each to PrintIT! to join the growing list of official PrintIT! sponsors.

Martyn Elmy, the chairman of PrintIT!, said: "When launching such an ambitious project, it was always going to be essential to the success of the initiative, to have the commitment, support and financial assistance from the whole of the industry.

As we continue the mammoth task of communicating with schools and head teachers to register their interest in PrintIT! and as we put the finishing touches to the comprehensive teaching packs, the sheer scale of the task is becoming apparent.

However, the latest commitment from MAN Roland GB and Turning Point Technologies gives further impetus to the project and demonstrates that both interest and support for PrintIT! is still very much on the agenda." According to Murray Lock, the marketing director of MAN Roland GB: "If we are to maintain a healthy and vibrant industry for the future, we must invest now in schemes such as PrintIT! to ensure we have the best possible workforce to take our industry forward." Steve Emerson, the managing director of Turning Point Technologies added: "The industry for so long now has talked of the need to attract new, young blood in to it but PrintIT! is the first real programme to come to fruition and we believe it is our duty to lend our support to a scheme that will benefit us all.".
