The speaker at this year's Printers' Charitable Corporation annual printing lunch to be held at London's Stationers' Hall on October 21 will bring with him an unrivalled background of politics and commerce with a show business pedigree.

Proposing the toast of 'The Printed Word' will be the Rt Hon Sir Jeremy Hanley KCMG, former chairman of the Conservative Party and former Government minister.

He is the son of actors Jimmy Hanley and Dinah Sheridan.

Sir Jeremy's political career included spells as Minister of State for the Armed Forces, Minister of State at the Foreign Office and Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Northern Ireland.

A chartered accountant, company director, lecturer, broadcaster and raconteur, Sir Jeremy is also Junior Warden of the Chartered Accountants Company.

Now in its 177th year, the PCC Annual printing industry lunch is limited to just over 200 guests and tickets are available on a first come, first served basis.

Priced £80, the tickets include a pre-lunch champagne reception, all wines and liqueurs and a three-course menu plus coffee.

The profits of the lunch will go towards the PCC's work amongst the printing industry's elderly and young people seeking a printing career.
