The Polestar Group has chosen the supplier of all of its pre-press cylinder manufacturing equipment for its new gravure printing facility.

The Polestar Group has chosen the supplier of all of its pre-press cylinder manufacturing equipment for its new gravure printing facility.

The installation will be the first fully automated cylinder production facility in the UK and will comprise the latest generation K6 electromechanical engravers from Hell Gravure Systems, high immersion electroplating equipment from Kasper Walter and cylinder storage with automated delivery to the gravure presses from Bauer.

Hell Gravure Systems will also supply the platforms for processing data from initial receipt to engraving.

Mike Young of Polestar said: "Hell Gravure Systems, together with its sister companies Kasper Walter and Bauer, has provided a single source solution that meets our requirements for high speed automated production." He added that the design brief that the suppliers had to meet was challenging.

"It had to provide a highly automated facility, keeping capital investment to the minimum, at the same time as providing complete flexibility for future growth.

Hell Gravure Systems has risen to the challenge and is providing an innovative solution that meets our needs entirely," commented Young.
