Polestar has been granted planning permission for its new factory in Sheffield (UK), subject to a technicality regarding an environmental assessment of the site.

Councillors voted unanimously in favour of the development but the Group is currently awaiting the Government Office for Yorkshire to lift a temporary restriction before work on the plant can begin.

Mike Young of Polestar said: "This is excellent news and once again we are grateful to all those involved with the planning process in Sheffield for their support.

Construction of the factory will begin as soon as we have the Government's final agreement.".
