Polestar Superplant Nearer With Sunday Press
Polestar Petty is to install its second new 64-page press in six months as it takes delivery in May 2004 of a four-unit Heidelberg Sunday 4000 press.
Hibbert's appointment is recognition of the role Polestar is playing in leading gravure printing into a new era, with the £100m development of a greenfield plant in the UK, the company believes.
He said: "Gravure production plays a vital role within the European print market and with the support of ERA members, it is well placed to increase its share.
I shall look forward to contributing to the ERA board on behalf of the UK gravure industry." Since its foundation in 1956, ERA has developed into the leading international organisation of the gravure industry.
Its members range from the publication, packaging and decorative printing sectors, including all leading publication gravure printers, to associated industries such as paper and ink makers, printing and finishing equipment manufacturers and the leading cylinder engravers.
