UK direct mail printer Polestar Direct has installed £2.5 million of the latest technology to broaden the range of services it can offer to new and existing customers.

The company said that with a 30 per cent increase in capacity and higher levels of productivity from the new equipment, the company is well placed to take on the production and mailing work associated with larger companies and campaigns.

As Graeme Selby, sales director at Polestar Direct, explained: "Whilst this technology supports the requirements of our existing client base, we are also able to serve the major high volume users across a range of market sectors, from retail, finance and travel, through to local and national government.

Coupled with support from our sister companies within the Polestar Group, we can compete at the very highest level and offer the quality and service required by blue-chip organisations." The equipment comprises four Xerox Docuprint 525 continuous laser printers, capable of single and double sided lasering, a high-speed folder, and five high-speed CMC enclosers, capable of matching and selectivity, with 100 per cent mailing integrity claimed the company.

Up to three million A4 sheets can be printed and enclosed into three million envelopes per day.

Selby continued: "We expect to attract the sort of work that we would not have been able to handle before, from the type of companies who previously would not have considered us.

t is a very exciting time for Polestar Direct.".
