The Virgin Group is installing an internet-based print e-procurement system from Polestar Applied Solutions across a number of its companies.

Following the recent review of print buying across the Virgin Group, the organisation is currently installing an internet-based print e-procurement system from Polestar Applied Solutions across a number of its companies.

Specifically, the Httprint system is said to streamline both the competitive tendering and contractual requisitioning procurement processes from 'request for quotation', to call-off from stock, or via print-on-demand.

A spokesperson for Virgin Group procurement said: "Virgin Management saw the Httprint e-procurement system as the best solution to enable a wide range of print buying departments across a number of Virgin businesses to increase efficiency the pool of rostered print suppliers selected by Virgin." Paul Seaborn, managing director of Polestar Applied Solutions, said: "This system connects all parties involved, including creative, marketing, external agencies, print buyers and suppliers in to a streamlined collaborative on-line workflow.

All processes and spend can be tracked and reported, thereby serving as a valuable management information tool.

It is only by having access to accurate, detailed procurement information that businesses can really maximise their spend and relationships.".
