The Polestar Group has announced an order to put an advanced shop floor data collection system supplied by Technique Business Systems in to its new Sheffield (UK) gravure production site.

The Polestar Group has announced an order to put an advanced shop floor data collection system supplied by Technique Business Systems in to its new Sheffield (UK) gravure production site.

The system consists of standard data collection technolgoy to monitor the Cerutti gravure presses, Ferag Unidrum stitching and inserting lines and polywrapping machines.

The presses will also be equipped with Technique's system to monitor the 3.8m wide paper reels from preparation through to splice.

Web browser based dashboards will be available to key staff anywhere in the group to see real-time performance of the equipment at Sheffield.

Polestar Group operations director Mike Young said: "This is a significant move for Polestar to choose a new vendor for our data collection systems.

Those from Technique capitalise on our previous investments in the core Technique software systems and will provide excellent visibility of our production performance against plan.".
