The Learning Suite at Polestar Varnicoat has been officially opened.

The Learning Suite at Polestar Varnicoat has been officially opened.

Through the combined efforts of the local Learning and Skills Council (LSC) and Polestar Varnicoat, the Suite was established in 2004, as the company recognised the need for a training room for its apprentices to use, as well as the opportunity to offer a range of basic skills and IT training to employees.

Funding for the necessary computer equipment was provided by the LSC and the facility now houses six computers.

Following a donation from the GPMU and Amicus unions, the suite's technology also includes an interactive whiteboard, which is used in conjunction with Polestar's Print Dynamics training initiative.

In addition to employees, the Learning Suite is also available to the local community, as the Evesham and Malvern Hills College will be using the facility to run courses.

Claire Heavisides of the local LSC said: "The Learning Suite is an excellent facility for the organisation to have access to.

More and more employers are recognising the need for continued learning within the workplace and it's great to see the commitment that Polestar Varnicoat has made to its employees.".
