Polestar Chantry has produced IPC's Cycle Sport magazine, including an extensive guide to this month's Tour de France.

In addition, the company has printed a 168-page Tour de France supplement for IPC, which included a CD on the cover.

Both the 204-page magazine and the supplement were perfect bound before being distributed to subscribers and news stands in the UK and abroad.

The bindery at Polestar Chantry has just seen the installation of the first Muller Martini perfect binding line, with a further two Muller Martini binders due for installation later this month.

They will be joined by a further two in August and September.

All five will be housed in the recently completed, purpose-built 110,000 square foot factory and they will generate 100 million perfect bound copies per annum.

Andy Pickett, the managing director of Polestar Chantry, said: "We are delighted that IPC is among the first of our customers to benefit from the new bindery facilities, and in particular on two such prestigious products.

With printing and binding under one roof, we are able to maintain greater control and management of the product throughout the process, as well as pass on scheduling enhancements where appropriate.

Keith Foster, IPC's publishing director, added: "July's Cycle Sport is the flagship issue of the year and we are very grateful to Polestar Chantry for delivering the quality and service we require on it.

The additional supplement was also produced to the highest standards, ensuring Tour de France fans will have all the information they need.
