Atkinson joined Watmoughs from Donnelly's in 1997.
Following the formation of Polestar, he was appointed operations director at Polestar Petty before moving to Polestar Greaves.
He returned to Polestar Petty as managing director in 2003 and since then has overseen the substantial development and expansion of that business.
