The Polestar Group yesterday announced that Stephen Clark, the managing director of Polestar Sheffield is leaving the company after seven months at the new gravure plant.

Clark's appointment came after previous managing director Andrew Jones resigned after eight weeks in the job last October.

David Yendole has been appointed acting managing director of the site and his role as customer service director will be filled, also on an acting basis, by Jeff White.

Barry Hibbert, Polestar's chief executive, said: "The direction and management of this plant is a key role within the group and we were delighted to attract someone of Stephen's calibre and experience.

However, I appreciate that the role has not completely met his aspirations.

Stephen has overseen the commissioning of the first equipment, which has gone extremely well but he now wishes to explore other career options and we wish him well for the future.".
