The Polestar Group has increased its share of the UK newspaper market by securing contracts for three supplements, together with a three-year extension to an existing partnership.

For Associated Newspapers, Polestar Colchester is printing 'ES Magazine', the weekly title that accompanies the 'London Evening Standard' newspaper.

The magazine will be printed on the company's high-speed Rotoman press, with stitching carried out on its two new Ferag Unidrum lines.

Also being printed at Polestar Colchester are 'Ms London' and 'Nine to Five', two recruitment titles published by Independent News and Media and distributed at London mainline and tube stations.

Polestar newspaper account director Jeff White said: "Polestar Colchester has a good reputation for printing quality magazines and these titles are ideal publications for the manufacturing facilities at the plant.

We are delighted to have won them and look forward to building on the high standard of printing that they demand and expect." The group has also extended its contract for a further three years with Guardian Newspapers for the production of its 'Weekend' supplement, which is produced at Polestar Sheffield, with polybagging carried out at Polestar Chantry.

Polestar has printed the supplement for 10 years.

Polestar newspaper category director, Steve Miles commented: "'The Guardian' has undergone tremendous change over the last few months and we are pleased to have played a role in that success.

This extension to our contract also reflects the continuing success of our relationship and we are very pleased to be continuing our partnership with them.".
