Magazine Conference To hear From Polestar's Four

Four directors will represent the Polestar Group at this year's PPA Magazine Production Conference this weekend will be attended by 250 executives from across the publishing and production arenas.

Four directors will represent the Polestar Group at this year's PPA Magazine Production Conference this weekend will be attended by 250 executives from across the publishing and production arenas.

Polestar's chief executive, Barry Hibbert, will be giving the keynote speech, in which he will be providing an insight in to the state of the UK and European gravure markets.

Jack Bisset, Polestar's technical director, will join a panel of industry experts to present the options on proofing.

Entitled 'Printing with the lights out', the session will looking at hard, soft or virtual proofing, using appropriate case studies to demonstrate the merits of each.

It is the key area of closed loop colour control, ISO and press standards in which Graham Fielding, Polestar Colchester's operations director, will be participating.

Once again, using case study material, the advantages and disadvantages of those technologies will be debated.

The conference will draw to a close with a question and answer session, where James Povey, the marketing director of UK Print, will be one of eight industry figures who will be answering questions from the audience.

After the conference, the annual Magazine Production Awards will be held and this year, the Polestar Group has been shortlisted for the Magazine Printer of the Year Award.
