The Polestar Group has completed its consultations with employee representatives about its intention to reduce its head office functions and sales operations.

Although the majority of redundancies are going ahead, a review will be undertaken to see if some services, which are currently outsourced, could be brought back in-house.

Catherine Hearn, Polestar's group human resources director, said: "There is a mutual understanding that these redundancies cannot be avoided.

Whilst we will carry out a review of some services provided to the group, it is unlikely that this will substantially offset the number of jobs to be lost."
