Three Polestar apprentices have collected awards as the UK's Leeds College of Technology recognised its 'best in class' at its annual ceremony.

Matthew Patton, aged 21, an engineering apprentice at Polestar Petty, and Daniel Johnson, aged 22, an apprentice at Polestar Chromoworks, collected student of the year awards for the engineering maintenance and machine printing courses respectively, whilst Michael Clark of Polestar Greaves won the outstanding effort in printing award.

Darrin Stevens, Polestar Group's training director attended the event and said: "We are extremely proud of Matthew, Michael and Daniel whose positive attitude and hard work have been acknowledged and rewarded.

They are a credit to the college, their companies and the Polestar Group.

Their achievements reflect the continuing success of our apprenticeship scheme, and in particular the introduction of an engineering module within it." There are currently 67 apprentices based at Polestar's UK gravure and web-offset plants, including seven engineering apprentices.

Twelve have already completed their apprenticeships and are now working full time across the Group.
