The Polestar Group has purchased Atelier's web-based production system, DPD (Digital Publishing Desktop) after a 12-month period during which Polestar trialled and market-tested the software for magazines and catalogues under its ISIS brand Polestar's chief executive, Barry Hibbert, said: "Over the last 12 months, we have had an encouraging response to ISIS from a number of major publishers

By acquiring DPD, we can now invest in its continuing development to provide a competitive, flexible and cost-effective system to match individual requirements across any number of titles, whether they form part of our print portfolio or not." He added: "We will use our existing resources and expertise within Polestar Applied Solutions to deliver the levels of support and service that this technology requires." Paul Seaborn, the managing director of Polestar Applied Solutions, added: "We have developed a good working knowledge of DPD during the past year and look forward to developing ISIS as an exciting addition to our range of print management technology.

We will be building upon our experience of managing hosted customer applications, our existing hosting infrastructure and the breadth of market and technical knowledge that we have within Polestar Applied Solutions and the wider Polestar Group." Polestar ISIS is provided as a fully managed system and comprises a suite of modules to automate and streamline the publication production process from copy management to press ready files delivered to the chosen printer.
