A team from the Polestar Group's head office in the UK is participate in a fund-raising activity weekend, organised by one of its leading customers, Monarch Airlines.

Ten Polestar representatives from the group's Applied Solutions business and IT department will join other teams competing for the Monarch Challenge Trophy.

Funds raised through sponsorship by all the teams will go to the Monarch Employees Charitable Trust, which is hoping to rebuild and support two schools in Sri Lanka which were devastated by the 2004 tsunami.

Taking place from August 4 - 6 the weekend involves a range of activities from rafting to archery.

Points will be awarded for individual and team performances.

Teams will also be judged on their performance around the campfire, each having to prepare and cook a meal for themselves and two judges, using basic camping equipment.

F-words - Flair and Flavour - as well as presentation will be what the judges are looking for.

The Polestar team is planning a Mexican menu, hoping to gain the judges' approval with plenty of tequila.

Captain of Team P.A.N.T.S (Polestar Applied 'N' Technology Solutions) Lyndsey Ancell said: "We will of course be hoping to bring home the trophy but our main objectives are to raise as much money as possible through sponsorship and to have a good time." Anyone wishing to sponsor the Polestar team should contact Lyndsey Ancell on 01908 206800 or via e-mail on lyndsey.ancell@polestar-group.com.
