The Polestar Group is once again supporting PrintIT! and has completed production of a Teacher Course Book and a Student Workbook for schools.

Polestar Wheatons and Polestar Chantry have printed 1,000 and 25,000 copies respectively of two books that form part of the Teachers' Packs, ready for distribution in September 2006.

In addition, schools will be using the award-winning printdynamics training programme as part of the PrintIT! teaching materials.

Over 300 schools have already registered to take part, and this figure is expected to rise before the 15 September entry deadline.

As with the first year, participating schools must create a 'print-centric' campaign to support the promotion of Fairtrade fruit, for the Fairtrade Foundation.

Polestar Group Training Director Darrin Stevens said: "The success of our own apprenticeship scheme is testimony to the fresh ideas and energy young people can bring to the industry".

"With this year's PrintIT! initiative incorporating Year 10 pupils in the first year of both Product Design and Graphic Products GCSEs, it is a great opportunity to encourage them to consider print as a career option even earlier, and we are pleased to be supporting it again this year." Martyn Elmy, Chairman of PrintIT!, added: "The student workbooks, teachers' information packs and teaching resources were certainly a key factor in the success of the first PrintIT! initiative and we are delighted to have the support of companies such as Polestar, who will enable us to continue to provide quality materials for PrintIT! Phase Two.".
