Polestar Turn Page On New Advertising Tool
The Polestar Group has developed an advertising tool designed to create immediate impact whilst making considerable financial savings to the client.
Httprint, provided by Polestar Applied Solutions, was initially rolled out to the Emap Communications' production department in October 2004.
Emap's aims were to streamline its print sourcing and purchasing procedures and maximise its spend.
"Httprint has been very successful so it made sense to take it to the next stage," says Jeremy Bull, group production manager for Emap.
"We made the decision to adopt Httprint within our communications and consumer media divisions to purchase the peripheral print associated with our weekly and monthly publications, and now we look forward to reaping further benefits as it is rolled out to all print buying teams in these areas." Lynne Williams, an Emap print buyer, is delighted with the benefits the system offers, and said: "It has brought a more structured approach to the print buying process, and provides easy access to information that I have not had available to me before.
It enables me to review a much wider range and volume of supplier quotes, ensuring that I can make a more informed decision with regard to where best to place our work.
In 19 years of print buying, it is proving to be one of the best systems I have used." Lyndsey Ancell, client services manager at Polestar Applied Solutions, who has been involved in the project from the outset, added: "We see this contract extension as proof of the value that Emap places in our ability to deliver real business improvements for its print purchasing teams.
We have enjoyed working closely with Emap's buyers to tailor Httprint to enhance existing buying and supplier management processes, rather than fundamentally changing the way of working.
We look forward to taking this initiative to the next level." The Polestar Group produces a range of titles for EMAP, including Grazia, Closer, Kerrang! and Nursing Times.
