Polestar Turn Page On New Advertising Tool
The Polestar Group has developed an advertising tool designed to create immediate impact whilst making considerable financial savings to the client.
Andy Hopkinson, purchasing manager, at Polestar Direct Leeds, said: "Our success in being awarded FSC/ PEFC certification has been achieved largely due to the existing high standards we have in place with regards to paper handling but credit must also go to the willingness of staff in adapting to the new working practices." Chris Barker, commercial director of The Polestar Group, said: "We are committed to the tracking of all wood paper products back to forest source and to the principle of not using wood paper products from illegal sources, or sources from non-certified high conservation forests and we continue to support the aims of WWF-UK Forest and Trade Network.
It is of course our intention for more of the group companies to obtain the Chain of Custody accreditation and we are working at a number of sites to do just that." A Chain of Custody is required to ensure that the timber produced in certified forests can be traced through to the end user, in this case Polestar Direct, thus guaranteeing the product is FSC certified.
The certification involves an assessment by an independent, qualified and accredited expert.
Each company, from the manufacturer through to the printer, is a link in the chain and, therefore, has to undergo its own certification process.
