Reed Extends Polestar Procurement System Contract

Reed Business Information has extended its contract with Polestar Applied Solutions for a further two years.

Reed Business Information has extended its contract with Polestar Applied Solutions for a further two years, following a successful roll out of the Httprint e-procurement platform within its central production and marketing departments.

Eric Lambert, procurement and production director of Reed Business Information, confirmed: "In certain cases, we have identified substantial savings as a result of the e-enabled procurement programme.

Furthermore, we have benefited from time savings as a result of standardising and streamlining processes, something which would not have been so easy to achieve without Httprint." Reed Business information is already extending the use of the system in to non-print purchasing and plans to continue the expansion across the business.

Lambert continued: "We saw that Httprint provided us with a robust but very flexible platform, which could be configured to suit our procurement needs beyond print.

After a year of working with Polestar Applied Solutions, we are confident of its ability to deliver both the systems and service levels we require for such an important initiative." Paul Seaborn, managing director of Polestar Applied Solutions, added: "We have experienced an increasing interest from our client base for extending Httprint to other areas of procurement and are extremely pleased that Reed Business Information has decided to continue to work with us to deliver organisational benefits at a wider level." Reed Business Information selected Httprint e-procurement from Polestar Applied Solutions in October 2005 to source and procure secondary print associated with its core magazine products.
