Polestar Buys Quebecor's Assets From Corby Site

A Polestar product story
Edited by the Printingtalk editorial team Jun 10, 2008

Polestar has acquired the assets from Quebecor World's operation in Corby, Northamptonshire (UK) following the business's entry in to administration two months ago.

The GBP multi-million deal also includes the 72-page KBA 818 Compacta high speed press with Gammerler in-line finishing and post-press equipment, including two Ferag stitching lines.

Polestar, which has not revealed the value of the deal, said it is currently reviewing the options and locations for the machinery, which will be dismantled over the next three-four weeks.

The company's chief executive, Barry Hibbert, commented: "This press is just two years old, with significantly fewer miles on the clock than it should have over that time, so it is an excellent opportunity for us to respond to our customers requirements, with a significant investment in machinery, which will also offer greater efficiency and an enhanced environmental impact.
