Carbon Footprint Conference Draws 65 Companies

A Polestar product story
Edited by the Printingtalk editorial team Jun 27, 2008

Representing over 65 organisations, 200 customers and suppliers have registered to attend Polestar's first environmental conference.

Hugh Jones, the director of solutions at the Carbon Trust, will be one of the keynote speakers at the conference, which is scheduled to be staged at the Stationer's Hall in London (UK) on June 30.

The two sessions, which will examine the measurement and reduction of the carbon footprint throughout the supply chain, have attracted representatives from magazine and newspaper publishers, retailers and Polestar's consumable and utility suppliers.

Polestar's chief executive, Barry Hibbert, said: "Obviously we are delighted by the response to this event and the calibre of the delegates and organisations attending, who clearly recognise that we are, once again, developing ways of working with them for the common good.

The environment is on everyone's agenda but through this initiative, we are moving on to the next stage by taking ownership of responsibilities and acting on them." He added: "The timing and objective of this event are spot on.

By bringing all parties together, we can make some real progress.

I am looking forward to hearing what they have to say and looking at what we can do next." Polestar said it is working with the Carbon Trust's carbon management programme, which is said to provide commercially viable services to help UK businesses cut carbon, energy and costs.
