Edited by the Printingtalk editorial team Jun 11, 2004

Premier Paper has been re-certified to the ISO 14001 international environmental standard, making it the only merchant to have successfully retained this accreditation for the third time running.

Premier Paper has been re-certified to the ISO 14001 international environmental standard, making it the only merchant to have successfully retained this accreditation for the third time running.

The company has also been accredited to the ISO 9001:2000 quality management standard, making the successful transition from ISO 9001:1996.

The achievement of this standard recognises that Premier Paper has demonstrated strategic planning for customer service.

Premier Paper said it was the first UK merchant to be awarded ISO 14001 in 1997.

"Being re-certified to ISO 14001 is a tremendous endorsement of our continued commitment to good environmental management," said Dave Butler, group quality and environmental manager of premier paper.

"To achieve this recognition for the third time shows that the 'chain of custody' for our products is complete and transparent to our customers," he added.

He also commented on ISO 9001:2000: "The rationale of this standard is to create a customer focused business culture.

To this end we are working to gain increasing understanding of our customers' needs and their expectations of us.

This will enable us to provide our customers with the highest level and quality of service by ensuring our own corporate objectives are orientated to their needs.".
