Platemaker with trapping software

A Prontaprint product story
Edited by the Printingtalk editorial team Mar 18, 2003

Prontaprint has installed the first AB Dick DPM 2340 polyester platemaker

Prontaprint, a platemaker with trapping software in its premises in Tabard Street, London, has installed the first AB Dick DPM 2340 polyester platemaker with EasyTrap InRip trapping software and ScanMaster for handling hardcopy.

The new platemaker is an internal drum machine and its predecessor, the DPM 1340 has been traded-in as part exchange.

Because EasyTrap is integrated into the DPM's PrintersRIP, it eliminates the bottleneck caused by shrink-wrapped trapping applications that require manual trapping adjustment or the tedious method of applying overprinting strokes.

It works smoothly with jobs that are created with dedicated pre-press or graphics applications, such as QuarkXPress and Adobe PageMaker that have built-in trapping capability.

It can also do all the work for jobs that come in untrapped and also recognises trapping zones generated by page layout software.
