Promo Pricing Boosts Quark Upgrades Path
In its efforts to reward customers for choosing QuarkXPress 6.5, Quark has announced promotional pricing for full products and upgrades.
Toni Thoma, head of pre-press at Sudostschweiz, said: "Quark's software proved to be efficient, user friendly and extremely reliable and it required little training.
These are all critical elements of any editorial workflow that has to operate in such time-critical environments." With 850 employees, the media group generates approximately CHF 15 million revenue yearly and publishes an estimated 62 million daily papers each year, including Die Sudostschweiz, Bundner Tagblatt and La Quotidiana.
Thoma added: "Our evaluation team studied a wide range of competing editorial workflow solutions before eventually deciding to upgrade to QPS 3.5, which stood out above the other solutions and provides a natural continuation in our technical development.
It actually took just two to three days to migrate to QPS 3.5 and just as significantly, our editorial staff only required training on Mac OS X.
QPS 3.5 required no training at all for users." With 105 Quarkcopydesk licenses, 110 QuarkXPress licenses and two Quarkdispatch servers, the Sudostschweiz has found a solution for its 12 newspaper and magazine offices that is user-friendly and duplicates its editorial workflows, regardless of whether the text determines the layout or the layout determines the text, said Quark.
Axel Paesike, sales director for Quark in central Europe, commented: "The management team at Sudostschweiz very quickly recognised the advantages of upgrading to the latest version of QPS.
Today, Sudostschweiz has grown and renewed its confidence in Quark by adopting QuarkXPress 6.5 and QPS 3.5.
This is further evidence that Quark's product vision is on target and the technical and commercial advances the company has made are being recognised and appreciated by customers.".
