At the same time, they can also buy QuarkXPress 7 for just GBP49 (EUR79) when it is available later this year.

The promotion is available through Quark resellers across Europe and directly from Quark.

QuarkXPress 6.5 is the current version of the page layout software and includes a number of new and enhanced time-saving features, such as support for native Adobe Photoshop files, image optimisation features, non-destructive effects and filters, synchronised text features, and project and layout spaces, said the company.

QuarkXPress 6 and 6.5 have been the fastest-selling upgrades in the history of QuarkXPress, added the company.

According to Quark, QuarkXPress 7 is the software's most significant upgrade to date.

It is claimed to bring users features to boost creativity and productivity.

For customers who are not yet using QuarkXPress 6.5, the promotion will ease the migration to QuarkXPress 7 by enabling them to gain immediate access to its features and establish a baseline production environment for the QuarkXPress 7 release, it is claimed.

Gavin Drake, Quark's European marketing manager, said: "QuarkXPress 7 represents a huge step forward for QuarkXPress users.

Whilst it will retain the many positive attributes that millions of users around the world love and depend on every day, QuarkXPress 7 will be a quantum leap forward in other areas.

For customers not yet on QuarkXPress 6.5, we are providing an attractive path to QuarkXPress 7 at a guaranteed upgrade price that minimises the financial uncertainty of upgrading right now." And he added: "This will enable customers to continue to upgrade to the latest version or purchase new QuarkXPress 6.5 licenses and benefit from the new features in QuarkXPress 6.5 with confidence." QuarkXPress upgrade and full-product boxes will contain a coupon entitling customers to upgrade their software to QuarkXPress 7.

The coupon will be redeemable directly from Quark.

Customers are advised to confirm with their reseller in advance of purchasing to ensure that their copy of QuarkXPress will include the upgrade coupon.
