Today a diverse range of organisations, including the majority of UK newspapers and magazine publishers, use Picdar's Media Mogul content management technology to control and manage their entire production workflow processes.
Like Picdar's Media Mogul, Quark Publishing System (QPS) is based on open-standards technology and is also used worldwide by newspaper publishers.
The similarities between the products and companies' goals provided a strong foundation for forming the partnership, added Quark.
Both Quark and Picdar said they recognise the synergy that exists between the companies with their respective dedication to providing workflow systems and with the announcement of the next-generation technology from Quark, an opportunity to cement the relationship presented itself.
The next generation of QPS is based on industry-standard technologies, making it platform independent, database independent, scalable and easy to integrate and implement, added Quark.
Ed Ewing, sales director for northern Europe at Quark, said: "This alliance with Picdar reinforces our commitment to the continued development of our open-standard technologies to give users across a wide range of production specialisations even higher levels of functions and flexibility within a highly streamlined workflow." Commenting on the new alliance, Picdar's Chris Fabesch, director of business development, said: "Picdar is committed to providing enterprise-scale publishers with the most effective level of integration between Media Mogul and other best-of-breed products.
I am delighted that we have reinforced this objective by making this strategic alliance with Quark.".
