Quark has introduced its new UK education programme.

Quark has introduced its new UK education programme.

The company said it has developed the new programme, with discounted pricing, to target the specific needs of educational communities, including schools and higher education.

The Schools Programme is specific to schools and sixth-form colleges and offers two different options.

The School License can be installed on every computer in the school for a fixed price of GBP1,750, said Quark.

The Classroom License is targeted at smaller groups and can be purchased for GBO35 per user, with a minimum purchase of 10 users.

In addition, a set of Teacher Support Materials has been developed and are included with both the School and Classroom Licenses.

The materials are based on key stages three and four of the UK's National Curriculum.

Quark said that the Higher Education Programme is targeted at answering the needs within the higher education community and includes teacher support materials, as well as new pricing to meet the budget pressures of higher educational establishments, students and teachers.

Qualifying students and teachers can purchase an Educational License for GBP99 including VAT a significant saving on the suggested retail price of GBP749+VAT.

For higher and further education establishments, Institution Licenses are available.

Institutional pricing starts at GBP50 per user, with a minimum of two users being required.

The per user price decreases as more users are added, said Quark.

For larger higher and further education institutions, there is also an annual subscription option, where the fee can be GBP10 per user per year.

Quark added that the new programmes have been developed as a direct result of collaboration with schools and higher educational establishments in the UK.

Mark Green, Quark's education business manager for northern Europe, said: "Quark recognises the importance of improving standards in education and in providing young people with skills to improve their future opportunities.

We are aware of the budgetary pressures on educational institutions and hope that our new programmes will enable these institutions to make the most of their software budgets and also provide students and faculty with access to Quark's award winning software.".
