Quark has expanded its leadership team by naming a senior vice president of corporate marketing and a chief information officer.

Terry Welty has joined Quark as senior vice president of corporate marketing and Jim Haggarty has joined as chief information officer.

They report to Ray Schiavone, Quark's president and chief executive officer.

Welty, a 20-year marketing veteran with an advertising agency background, will guide development of the strategic marketing plan to support corporate goals and drive growth, said Quark.

Additionally, he will oversee worldwide marketing operations, including activities such as corporate communications, creative services, online marketing, events, and direct marketing.

As the former vice president of corporate marketing for Arbortext, Welty guided the company's repositioning and its outreach programmes, which increased market demand and awareness.

In addition, Welty has held several marketing leadership roles in international software companies, said Quark.

Welty earned his bachelor of arts degree in advertising and marketing from Texas Tech University and his MBA in international business administration from Baylor University.

Haggarty, who has more than 30 years of information technology and operations experience, will focus on the IT infrastructure at Quark to ensure efficiencies, reduce costs, and increase revenues, said the company.

Quark said that throughout his career, Haggarty has introduced strategic technology plans across diverse industries, building infrastructures and serving as a lead change agent for corporate growth initiatives.

After beginning his career with Bayer AG in Montreal, Haggarty served as a director of systems development for Domtar Inc and as chief information officer for Domtar Gypsum.

He was also vice president of information technology at Arbortext.

Haggarty earned his bachelor of science degree from Loyola College in Montreal (Canada) before completing a number of technical certificates.

Ray Schiavone said: "I am excited to welcome Jim and Terry to the Quark team.

Their experience and skills will enhance our ability to execute our strategic growth plans and will be an excellent complement to our team.".
