Quark is inviting creative personnel to attend free hands-on training classes on QuarkXPress 7 and Quark Interactive Designer in 35 different cities across Europe.

Quark is inviting creative personnel to attend free hands-on training classes on QuarkXPress 7 and Quark Interactive Designer in 35 different cities across Europe.

Those attending the classes will work with a range of new layout and design features in QuarkXPress 7 and then build on those skills using Quark Interactive Designer to add motion, sound and interactivity to their designs, which can then be produced as Macromedia Flash (SWF) files, said Quark.

The hands-on training events, know as Interactions 07, are said to be specifically designed for customers using previous versions of QuarkXPress who have not made the move to QuarkXPress 7.

The training is also suitable for anyone who may have used QuarkXPress in the past and wants to experience the latest in page layout and design for multi-channel publishing, added the company.

Interactions '07 will span 20 countries and 35 cities in Europe covering over 11,000 kilometres.

The countries and cities are Vienna (Austria), Brussels (Belgium), Prague (Czech Republic), Copenhagen (Denmark), Helsinki (Finland), Lille, Lyon, Marseilles, Nantes and Paris (France), Frankfurt, Hamburg, Munich and Stuttgart (Germany), Budapest (Hungary), Dublin (Ireland), Verona and Milan (Italy), Amsterdam and Utrecht, (The Netherlands), Oslo (Norway), Warsaw (Poland), Porto and Lisbon (Portugal), Moscow (Russia), Madrid and Barcelona (Spain), Stockholm (Sweden), Geneva and Zurich (Switzerland), Istanbul (Turkey) and Bristol, Edinburgh, London and Manchester (UK).

Gavin Drake, Quark's European marketing director, said: "QuarkXPress 7 and Quark Interactive Designer bring enormous benefits to creative professionals and the best way to experience these benefits is through trying the software.

By using professional trainers in a guided hands-on training environment, attendees get to discover the key new features in these two award-winning products.

They can also learn just how easily they can extend their existing printing design skills and then extend their skills further to web and Flash design without having to learn complex new tools." From transparency and Photoshop support to Opentype, Quark Job Jackets and collaboration with Composition Zones, QuarkXPress 7 is the software's most significant upgrade claimed Quark.

Quark Interactive Designer was launched last October and enables creative professionals to exploit their skills to create rich, interactive content such as tours, online advertisements and design-driven presentations from within QuarkXPress 7.

Each classroom environment in The Interactions '07 road show will be equipped with the latest high-performance Intel-based Macbook Pros where attendees will be able to see the performance of the Universal versions of QuarkXPress 7 and Quark Interactive Designer running on Mac Intel computers, said Quark.

Quark claimed that QuarkXPress was the first professional page layout software released as a Universal application last August and the subsequent updates have further enhanced its performance and reliability.
