The company's stand at Ipex - 4D23 - will allow visitors to see the latest demonstration models, showing what IDS, IQM, IRS and their subsystems can mean for various pressroom situations.

With IDS's closed loop markless colour control QI Press Controls has managed to - whilst claiming to be the only company in the world to do so - adjust and monitor real colours on fast web presses on the basis of TIFF-files, without colour bars or marks having to be printed as part of the process.

The new IDS controls the colour density in closed loop on web presses running at maximum speed, using only CCD measurements in the printed image (i.e without colour marks).

IDS' interface with pre-press can further optimise image input by making use of learning curves.

Visitors will also be informed of newly commissioned systems.

The company's IQM - Intelligent Quality Management, is said to mean that from press management level right through to departmental management, IQM can evaluate the colour and register quality of the running job and reports the information via flexible modules.

The IRS - Intelligent Register System, will also be demonstrated.

QI Press Controls said that it is proven all over the world that optimum colour register control is possible on web-offset presses with virtually invisible marks.

A new element of the company's IRS is the option to optimise the fan-out register in closed loop and monitor it, whilst running presses at maximum speed, which is said to be convenient for maintaining the fan-out register on four-high coldset presses.
