Komarnanske Tlaciarne, a heat-set printer in Slovakia, has selected Q I Press Controls to supply an automatic register control system for its KBA Compacta 214 press in Komarno.

Komarnanske Tlaciarne wants to improve the quality of its printing and is not satisfied with the performance of the existing register systems on its press.

Due to cooperation between Q I Press Controls and its agency G+P Technik., Komarnanske Tlaciarne was able to see the advantages and the good results of Q I Press Controls' Intelligent Register System (IRS).

The accuracy of the IRS system of +/- 0.01mm and the almost invisible registers marks that only require a white space of 5mm x 5mm are important buying conditions for Komarnanske Tlaciarne, said Q I.

The IRS will be installed to control full automatic colour register, cut-off register and side-lay register of the KBA Compacta.

Also the option for anti-embossing control will be installed.

The IRS anti embossing control increases the amount of printed copies before washing blankets becomes necessary without noticeable register deviation, said Q I.

Komarnanske Tlaciarne technical director Erik Abraham is enthusiastic about the system and its possibility to improve overall press efficiency.

He said: "Our products have a small type page.

We print to the edge of the paper, so accuracy is a must.

Q I Press Controls has the ability to help us achieve this accuracy.".
