The number of existing customers and the expected further growth in Spain and Portugal have made the organisation decide to open up Q I Press Controls Iberica for service and efficiency reasons.
Raul Barredo Sabando will be in charge of the Spanish office.
With his 11 years of experience in the Spanish printing industry, the last few years of which he was mainly active as an agent for Q I Press Controls selling IRS register systems, Barredo is aiming to deal with heatset, coldset and business forms printing companies in Spain and Portugal.
Barredo commented: "I see that the quality awareness of printing companies is growing and that they are striving to work more efficiently.
The huge added value of an IRS system or an IDS colour control system means that they pay for themselves in a very short period.
There is a lot going on in the printing industry, which means my team and I are in for some busy times." Q I Press Controls said it has sold a number of IRS systems to customers in Spain.
IRS systems for automatic colour and cutting register control have been installed in small and large printing companies on existing and new presses.
The Portuguese market is also becoming convinced of the advantages and the short payback time of the IRS system.
The recently introduced IDS colour control system, where the scanner no longer needs any marks but measures inside the printed image and compares the measurement result to the required result, has had quite an impact in the printing market, according to Q I Press Controls.
The company's expectations are that the IDS will be a great success, mainly in the heatset and coldset markets, and that Spanish and Portuguese printing companies will also integrate the technology in to their printing processes.
