Quadtech has imposed its first price increase in three years, with a five per cent rise on equipment sales throughout the world.

The company said that the increase reflects two factors affecting Quadtech's business, with its commitment to continuous product development and improvement being foremost behind its decision.

It said that in such a fast-moving industry, the development of new technology and techniques needed to accelerate to enable printing companies to keep pace with their customers' own changing needs.

Secondly, the prices of component parts, from which Quadtech builds its main equipment, have been rising steadily.

According to the Producer Price Index for the printing industry, a recent spike has sent the prices of component parts to an all time high since 2000.

Quadtech explained that it has absorbed those increases wherever possible.

However, the company added that it is not willing to fight the inflationary influences by compromising on quality and using lower-priced components.

Due to that philosophy, Quadtech added that it aims to exceed the product quality and reliability of competitive products.
