Royle Printing has invested in a Quadtech Ribbon Control System with Multicam and Data Central .

The new press controls will be integrated, together with existing Quadtech equipment, through the Quadtech Icon platform at the Sun Prairie, Wisconsin (USA) company Chad Czarnecki, director of operations at Royle Printing Company, commented: "We specialise in short to medium run lengths of magazines and catalogues, all with exacting print quality standards and tight production schedules

We predict that our new Quadtech equipment, combined with an ink preset system we have also bought, would cut our make-ready time in half." And he added: "In turn, this will create more press capacity.

Currently, we only put our larger run jobs on this press, since the make-ready waste is higher on this machine.

With the new equipment, our make-ready waste will be equal to, or lower than, it currently is on our other presses.

This will allow us the flexibility to run any size jobs on the press." According to Quadtech, the Icon platform is proving popular with printers across and beyond the United States and allows the user to check all Quadtech press controls from a single touch-screen.

Companies find the system helps to free up press operators, enabling them to work on other projects.

That allows them to take on more jobs with the same number of staff.

Data Central allows the press operators at Royle Printing to see just how much waste is being saved, helping them to set targets for improvement and provide accurate statistics, said Quadtech.

Royle Printing's experience with its existing Quadtech press controls was a pivotal factor in its decision to invest in the new equipment.

Czarnecki commented: "Like us, Quadtech has always been dedicated to producing a high quality product.

We've been delighted with the support and insight the company shared with us.

Quadtech is a great resource for our industry.

Royle is a full-service print and distribution company, serving small to mid-sized publishing, catalogue and corporate clients.
