Colour Control's Produces Consistent Print Quality

A QuadTech product story

To save paper during start-ups, reduce waste and maintain consistent quality during print runs, a Quadtech Colour Control System has been installed by Vestjysk Rotation in Vinderup (Denmark).

Vestjysk Rotation, which prints telephone directories, magazines and flyers bought the Quadtech Colour Control System for its heatset and coldset operation, which is geared to providing fast job turn-arounds, as well as production flexibility.

The company has a history of working with Quadtech after buying the Quadtech Register Guidance System with Multicam for its Goss Baker G15 press and the PPC 3000X for its Tensor press.

It found that both Quadtech products met the specific colour consistency needs for the company.

Lars Johannesen, a director at Vestjysk Rotation, commented: "By installing QuadTech's Color Control System we wanted to be able to measure and maintain colour density without variations, in keeping with our quality standards, throughout the run.

The Color Control System is sophisticated with an intuitive graphic interface and is very user-friendly.

We think it is a great technology." He added: "We bought the eight-unit Goss Baker G15 press in 2003 with the aim to move in to the heatset market and added the Register Guidance System and cut-off control to provide greater registration on the press.

It has proved to be successful as it is very reliable and immediately helped us to save waste." Johannesen explained that the demand for producing higher quality images and reducing waste in the printing industry is growing rapidly and that Quadtech had been thorough with its aftersales support at Vestjysk Rotation in the past, so it seemed natural for the company to continue its association with the company by investing in the Colour Control System.

Vestjysk Rotation also believed it will get a return on investment in a short time.

Vestjysk Rotation was established in 1978 and as the business grew, it moved to larger premises in 1985.

Since then, it has extended its print house several times to accommodate new equipment.

The company currently has 35 employees and has acquired extra land with the possibility for future expansion.
