Adstream, the digital advertising workflow systems supplier has formed a technology partnership with virtual proofing developer Integrated Color Solutions (ICS).

Under the agreement, Adstream will offer ICS's colour-managed soft proofing system as part of its Quickcut advertising workflow software.

Adtsream believes that in addition to benefiting from the Quickcut service that is said to ensure colour advertisements are accurately created to publication-specific criteria, automatically validated prior to transfer and digitally delivered direct in to the publishing workflow, publishers will now be able to accurately proof files on screen at point of receipt.

It is claimed that they will be able to do so without the need for hard copy contact proofs.

ICS technology supports RGB and CMYK workflows and all standard production file formats.

Certified by SWOP (Specifications for Web Offset Publications) and compliant with industry standard International Color Consortium (ICC) ICS products are claimed to enable on-screen verification of colour accuracy on colour-calibrated monitors.

"By integrating ICS remote proofing in to the Quickcut digital advertising workflow we are providing users with all the confidence and security of a hard copy contract proof but at much less cost, in terms of labour and materials as well as in considerably less time," explained Joe Jarrett, business development director at Adstream.

He added: "Publishers can be confidant that, not only are they receiving colour-validated ads digitally, they can also view the files accurately in a fully digital environment and get them in to production at speed." More than 5,000 companies, agencies and designers worldwide are said to use the Quickcut advertising workflow to ensure that a range of production-ready job files are properly prepared, colour-managed, validated and delivered according to individual publishing or print specifications, saving time and resources for content creators and receivers.

Adstream said that during the last 12 months more than 2.5 million files representing the spectrum of print production were developed, validated and distributed to printers and publishers around the world using Quickcut workflow tools from Adstream.

Jeffrey Silverman, president and chief executive officer of ICS, said: "We are delighted that Adstream have chosen our technology to provide the soft proofing element within their leading Quickcut on-line creation, validation and delivery workflow.

The advertising industry is moving at speed towards an all-digital production workflow supported by confidence in calibrated monitor proofing and the substantial improvements in efficiency.".
