Entry Level Advertising Approval Software Launched
Quickcut, the provider of advertising production workflow software and services, is launching Direct and Quickcheck, two new advertising production software packages.
Smartrepro is BBC Magazine's project to bring all of its core repro processes in-house to save costs and gain greater control of its production quality.
Initial developments on the magazines' editorial pages saw success in improving the colour quality throughout its range of titles.
By using Adstream's print systems, BBC Magazines can benefit from the same improvements for advertising pages, with advertisements delivered via Adstream meeting each magazine's exact colour and quality specifications, said the company.

Leo Burnett Print Management has implemented the Quickcut system for print advertisement verification and delivery in its digital workflow.
Workflow Most Advanced For Newspapers
The new version of Quickcut's print and production workflow software was previewed by the company at Newstec in the UK, several months ahead of its worldwide launch later this year.
That process is said to eliminate the manual configuration that is needed for materials that are submitted by disc, email or ISDN.
Mike Palmer, director of print publishing operations at Adstream said: "BBC Magazines' selection of Adstream's system is a testament to the reliability and high level of quality and efficiency that publishers can achieve through digital delivery of advertising.
By encouraging its advertisers to switch to digital delivery, BBC Magazines is reducing the costly management of manually optimising adverts for each magazine's specification." He added: "On top of this, the tracking and validation applications built in to Adstream's system sit securely within BBC Magazines' secure network infrastructure and allow everyone involved in an ad project to be notified of its precise status." At present, a high percentage of adverts sent to BBC Magazines do not conform to the specifications set out in order to achieve the optimal visual appearance within each magazine.
Adstream's systems eliminate that problem and allow advertising agencies to maximise the colour management expertise the BBC has developed during its Smartrepro project, added Adstream.
Mal Skelton, production director at BBC Magazines, commented: "As publishers look to increase efficiencies and quality in their workflows, a move towards receiving advertsiements digitally is inevitable.
We believe that this will not only benefit our production teams, improving the value of our final products but it will also have a positive impact for advertisers and agencies.
Using Adstream allows them to check for file errors and confirm delivery of advertsiements to the right people, streamlining the whole workflow process in key areas.".
