Quebecor Wins Massive Directories Printing Deal

Quebecor World has agreed to a new multi-year contract for the printing of the white and yellow page directories of Dex Media.

Quebecor World has agreed to a new multi-year contract for the printing of the white and yellow page directories of Dex Media.

Under the new agreement, Quebecor World will progressively increase the volume it produces for Dex Media and in 2012 will be the sole print supplier for the directories Dex currently publishes.

Quebecor World currently produces more than 200 Dex Media directories for distribution in 14 states in the Midwest, the Rocky Mountain region and the Pacific Northwest of the USA.

Over the term of the agreement Quebecor World is expected to quadruple the number of directory pages it prints for Dex Media.

Kevin Clarke, the president of Quebecor World's US Book and Directory Services, said: "We are very pleased that Dex Media has recognised the value we can bring to their business.

This agreement demonstrates that our coast-to-coast directory operation is the right choice for large, well-established directory publishers producing long-run and shorter-run books." George Burnett, president and chief executive officer of Dex Media, commented: "Quebecor World has been a key vendor of ours for several years and we are confident that it will provide us with the manufacturing facilities and service we require to improve operating efficiencies and grow our business in the years to come." Dex Media is the exclusive publisher of the official White and Yellow Pages directories in print, on the internet and in CD-ROM formats for Qwest Communications International.

In 2004, the company published 269 directories for distribution to virtually all business and residential consumers in Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Iowa, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington and Wyoming.

In 2004, Dex Media's revenue was $1.65 billion.
