The milestone one-billionth copy rolled off the presses in Quebecor World's Clarksville (USA) plant yesterday.

This summer marks two milestones for Highlights For Children, the company that brought generations of children and their families 'Hidden Pictures' and 'Goofus and Gallant' through the pages of 'Highlights' magazine.

Highlights reaches more than two million readers each month through subscriptions mailed directly to children and families, through its presence in doctors' and dentists' waiting rooms, and in schools and libraries nationwide.

"There are few of us, children or adults who have not at one time in our lives held a Highlights in our hands; the positive impact that Highlights has had on generations of Americans is indelible," said Wes Lucas, chief executive officer of Quebecor World.

On the web, Highlightskids.com offers interactive content related to each issue of the magazine, as well as independent activities.

The organisation also offers children, parents, grandparents, and educators a range of products including the Highlights for Children Book Clubs.
